Wyrm CSA

A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is an alternative food distribution model. Members pay farmers at the beginning of the farming season and in return receive a weekly box of produce over the course of the season.

Receiving payment at the beginning of the season is beneficial to farmers:

  • it allows us to make capital-intensive purchases necessary for the upcoming season;
  • to plan how much to grow (and therefore avoid waste);
  • to offset some of the risks inherent to farming, like extreme weather and crop failure.

Since its onset, the CSA model has reflected an alternative, collective form of ownership and consumption.

Wyrm is a New York-based farm share and magazine.
